A great idea came to mind last night. I was straightening the Men's pocket squares. Tigers in pinks and Peacocks in a rainbow of color, the mighty blue Dragon, and Tickle Tickle print in bright turquoise. I thought what a shame it was that I couldn't wear a pocket square. That isn't fair. men have all the luck. They just throw a navy blazer on and shove a pocket square in and off they go looking clean and dashing with a subtle yet screaming hint of color. Then it hit me, What if I took the chain off of the the Glenna Halter, which comes in a palette of cotton knit, and used a pocket square to tie the top around my neck. How chic. I quickly grabbed the two and tried it on. Ladies this is a great outfit for the summer. Cool and clean over white jeans or Bermudas. You will be the look they all want but didn't think of at every summer cocktail soiree and BBQ in town.

Picture perfect

Yesterday Lena Hyde, an amazing photographer , came over to our house and captured my boys perfectly with her camera. Lena has a studio here in West Palm Beach at City Place, which studio sessions can be booked, or she provides in-home sessions. It is an addicting and worthwhile habit. Come be enticed and book a session now.
Thank you Lena for our pictures. These boys are my work of art for my soul and my house. Who needs a Piccaso when you have Lena.
Here is a sneak peek at my boys + one pug courtesy of Lena Hyde.

SURF'S UP:

Well, there is one grand side effect of El Nino conditions returning: Palm Beach has waves. And not just the usual polite and gently rolling little curls that roll up on the sand, but head held high, get your board hit the ocean kinda waves...
It's thrilling...

It's hard to believe...

&

It's really happening...

And given our wild proclivity for pink and green, we think real men are suiting up in Lilly baggies. After all, they may not be neoprene, but they have a certain panache that is everything the bold, the brazen and the absolutely unique embody.

Whether it's the Yeah Baby electric paisley, the Tail Lights midnight blue and white Chinese dragons or the hardcore florals, these are surf trunks for men that want to stand out. Bright, shiny, blazing... this is hangin' 10 hardcore PB style.

Heck even LPGA sensation Morgan Pressel just told Sports Illustrated "Real men aren't afraid... to wear pink!"

We couldn't agree more. Catch the wave... then hit the beach.

More to come all Summer long

What a season...

Palm Beach has a long lived tradition of a "season". This phenomenon is from November until the few weeks after Easter. Everyone comes to Palm Beach in the "season" and everyone leaves in a mass exodus when it is over. Well it is the few weeks after Easter and we thankfully are still hopping. No pun.

We apologize for time missed on the blog, but all work and no play...

To recap the never ending season will be premature as of yet. To preview the Summer...ah, well that is a light at the end of the tunnel. Do you see the light? I do.

PB LOVES TRINA!!!!

It was Palm Springs meets Palm Beach when fresh, fun-loving Trina Turk arrived at C. Orrico this weekend -- and the response was unbelievable!!!! We had so many of favorite customers, as well as first-timers in the store to meet the woman who's palette is retro-fresh and whose designs are effortless, yet playfully sophisticated that the designer who came in unsure of what to expect went home almost speechless!
Over 300 people Saturday afternoon made for a welcoming committee like only Palm Beach could bestow. We were honored to share Trina with our friends, and we were thrilled that you all made her so welcome. Because if Palm Beach has the desert, the mineral springs and the classic movie star glamour, we have the lush tropical jungles, killer fountains -- and YOU!

Having sold almost al the Trina Turk for spring in stock -- and it was fabulous -- we're getting more in. So don't fret if your size is missing, we're trying to reload.... and take comfort, too, in how amazing the summer is. Trina brought samples, and if you didn't see, you can go on faith: it may be her best collection yet! Turquoise, cerulean, mango, verdant greens...

Oh Boy!

The entire Orrico Family welcomes Master Ryan James Munder Jr. into the world on this Easter Sunday at 5:00pm. 8lbs 2 oz and 20 1/4 inches long of handsome love. I was privileged to drive Nicole to the hospital this afternoon to meet her very anxious husband, Ryan. She was a trooper on the ride there. In between contractions, exactly 4 minutes apart, we managed a few giggles. I went back to the hospital to meet this very anticipated bundle of joy and was honored to hold him. He is precious, and yes, as beautiful if not more than his parents.

We love all three of you. Congratulations.

50 WISHES

The 3rd annual Bootlegger Ball was held to benefit the Make a Wish Foundation at Mar A Lago. The night was filled with stars and diamonds thanks to David Morris and 50 wishes that were granted tonight. Champagne glasses were filled with a special treat. One real diamond in the ruff to be found amongst 99 other cubics. One lucky winner. There were trips to South Africa, Paris, London and Las Vegas. Our favorite, Kenney Chesney tickets and custom built play houses all made for a very lucrative evening for such a wonderful benefit. What a glorious evening.

We can't wait until the 4th annual Bootlegger Ball next year. Nicole, Andrea, Crissy and Darcy together made a magical night for everyone involved. Thank You.

BLACK and WHITE ALL OVER

You know it's season when we're hosting what feels like the best parties in the world... with everyone we love... only it's ALL of our out of town friends coming in during the Spring Break break. And when all you wanna do is get your pals from everywhere dressed in the prettiest looks, catch up on their families, beaus, achievements and weight loss secrets, getting away for an actual meal is not just impossible, it's unthinkable...
After all, who might you miss for something as silly as food?

Still, with the new sleek six 6 (!!!!) Kathie as our role model, we're taking a cue for the mostly vegetarian Orrico sister and her trick for maintaining her energy during these crazy days of "ohmygoodness, it's been so long... wait'll you see this amazing little dress/pair of shorts/darling pair of shoes...": Hamburger Heaven's Black & White.

The Black & White, for the uninitiated, is a hand scooped vanilla ice cream, heavy chocolate syrup extra thick milk shake. Made as only Cindy and the girls at Hamburger Heaven can do it!!!

Thick enough to satisfy and fill up your tummy. Plenty of calcium to build your bones. Sugar to burn in the afternoon stretch. And... of course... enough chocolate to release your way-high-to-great-pleasure zones in full-throttle throes.

Anyone coming to PB who wants a real Palm Beach experience need only wander half a block North on South County Road, You don't even need to get in the line; get it to go. Nothing like a Black & White to walk the streets and sate your every hungry... well, every hungry except what're you wearing tonight! (But, hey, we've already got that covered for you...!)
