Yesterday we debuted our newly renovated store in Palm beach to James Bradbeer, President of Lilly Pulitzer Corp. We held our breathe as he walked through the front doors. In seconds the world could hear the sigh of relief. He loved it and even applauded us. It does look really great.

Splashey accents of the hottest pink known to man adorn the pillars and a few walls.

Fresh bright shiny white bead board trim all of the walls.

Crown molding to last one a lifetime.

New lighting and a new layout.

We put our leading lady front and center...Lilly Pulitzer.

Followed by the Queens court Trina Turk,Tibi, and Shoshanna.

The back of the store is more casual beach chic. Great big dressing rooms have its own giant room.

We can't wait to see everyone and show you around!

The Lilly Road

Road trip up to King of Prussia to Lilly headquarters was a blast.
Spring 2011 was presented to us and I have several things to say.

Oh My God......Can you say Mad Men? Everything this season is 50's flirty dresses and Lilly is on it. Over 40 amazing silhouettes are in this incredible grouping.

It starts with a POP in January with a print called Pop Purple Optical confusion and finishes up with Lillys Pink Big Squeeze. This grouping came from the pop cultural influence and features a one shoulder wonder!

The Whittaker will be here in January 2011 in two prints for $258.00.

The next section is dedicated to virgins....just kidding. The White Dress presentation is breathtaking. Very soft,lacy, and pure. Very Uma meets Pfeiffer. Dresses with a strap have a two finger rule, which all of us Moms know is great for graduation or religious events. We are excited about all 12 dresses in this group.

My fifteen minutes or rather 15 seconds of fame. Our local news covered a story about the towns budget and cutting our Ocean Rescue....yes Lifeguards. I sat through the entire meeting in great hopes this would not happen. Well, it did not!

Sisters and an Apple

Casey and I went to The Big Apple for two days, yes I flew. Yes, It was great and I had fun. so I can't wait until September when we buy for Spring.

We stayed at Le Parker Meridien ,which houses the famous "Norma's" restaurant. Incredible food and a must do for breakfast. I will try to julienne veggies for my egg white omelets. Amazing how the ordinary veggie omelet became a work of art by just changing the texture and shape of an ingredient. Huh? Food for thought... yeah yeah no pun intended. oh and do not get the $1000.00 caviar omelet, but if you do can I have a taste?

Off to the shows for our November/December buy. Milly's theme : Jackie O goes sailing. Very fresh bright yellow, true navy, cornflower blue all with bright whites + sailboats of course.

Tibi went Safari. Muted drab khaki,light lavender,safari beige and of course great sparkles. We found a few new lines,which you will see in the late fall. No no you can't know about it now. It wouldn't be a surprise then silly. Nanette outdid her self with embellishments galore in all the right spaces.

Great restaurant for dinner, Serafina between Park and Madison on 61st. Whole wheat aglio e olio, giant chicken milanese, and mouth watering salmon. Great neighborhood and people watching galore.

After I went for quite a long walk all over 5th and Madison soaking up the city, I ran into so many people from our area. No anonymity for me. Good thing I am an open book huh?

Randoms I came upon, of all people, two of the Lilly print designers....Jeff and Paige. I will be seeing you in a few weeks up in KOP to see Spring 2011. Then I headed right to the pink and green of Madison Ave. Good to see how the other half lives. Somehow it works for me a little better in Palm Beach, but the New York scene deserves a bought of Lilly now and then.

Not too long ago,I recieved a facebook message from a "friend". Her name is Jessica Graves and she has a blog named The Love List.

She was going to be in Palm Beach and wanted to stop by and chat. Thankfully I did respond back to Jessica and told her it would be great... blah blah blah. Out of sight, out of mind. Fast forward.

On Tuesday mid afternoon a groovy young girl walked in wearing Jules Reid with a Krystal Sasso necklace and turquoise blue nail polish. She of course caught my eye. As she approached me telling me she had written to me ect..... I thought to myself yet again..... by the skin of my teeth. Luckily, I was in the store with Casey writing orders for this upcoming season and thank God I was here to meet this fun and extraordinarily talented girl. A girl who had interest in writting about us? Who would have imagined.

We had cheesecake....yes cheesecake. Cheesecake solves several problems and soothes the mind. Well at least in our book it does. We had a lovely time with Jessica, our new friend, and we can"t wait to spend more time with her in person and on her blog.

Her blog is more delicious than any cheesecake around and we are so proud to be a part of it.

So some people woke up yesterday thinking it's just another hot summer day in Palm Beach. Wrong!

A few lucky people were blasted into Pink orbit while shopping in our store right next to the one and only Jungle Queen herself, Lilly. After all it was wear your Lilly day and it was National.

Well at least a marked holiday in our books.

If you were on the ball or at least instinctively, as usual had your Lilly on ,we bestowed upon you a gift certificate as reward to shop and get more. We handed out scags of them in and out of the store.

An adorable family of four got the special treat of receiving their Gift right from Lilly herself. Luck of the draw she was in birthday shopping for her own daughters Liza and Minnie.

We hope the Kranich family will remember this day forever and Alexandra loves her Cameron capri pants.

What a special moment. and Thank you for supporting us.

WE Love to CRASH

So a few weeks ago was the famous Family Disney Trip. Staying as always at The Boardwalk Hotel in our fav room right off the pool. If any one watches DIY network and the show Yard Crashers with Ahmed Hassen will enjoy this one.

My husband loves this show but even more so his "man-crush" on Ahmed has me wondering a bit sometimes. I get it.... he can do yards like no other + he is funny and a guys guy. Cute too.

Well we are at the pool and my husband is starring at this guy for a bit and then jumps up from his chair and like a star struck girl (small exaggeration) screams "AHMED" Oh My God!!!

He, Ahmed, couldn't have been more personal and adorable. After all he was on a family/work vacation at Epcot's Garden Show at a speaking engagement ans we were groping him verbally and a lil' physically.

Our yard is still dull but maybe one day he will remember us!

Just when we thought Palm Sunday would run its usual course of spring breakers popping in after church before brunch to get their latest pretty girl dresses for Easter we had a pleasant surprise.

My sister said to me, "Don't freak out but turn around!" Sorry, I freaked a little, gave him a great big hug and told him I loved him. Okay, I freaked out. so would you!

He was exchanging a Lilly suit his wife had gave him. By the way he is a 33 waist and a size medium in the Capri Swim trunk. Great six pack for a 49 year old brilliant doctor.

Tea Time

Last Friday and Saturday morning Pink Loves Green- our Minnies store- was the setting for a very special tea.

Each day 20 little girls (and three little boys!) sipped tea (ok, pink lemonade), munched on sandwiches and other snacks...

When the 6th grade class at Rosarian Academy needed an item to auction off at their annual fundraiser, we knew just who to turn to- our friends at Walden Surfboards! Steve Walden personally crafted and signed the board featuring the Rosarian logo and school mascot. We love how it turned out, and so did the auction attendees! Big thank yous to Steve and Brandi at Walden, and Mark at Ocean Magic surf shop in Jupiter- who was nice enough to led us a stand so we could properly display the board. We just had to share this great photo we were sent from the Dolphins vs. Jets game! Fitz Ollison, a long time Lilly Lover and the Director of Communications for the Dolphins, brought a little Palm Beach/South Florida style to New York this weekend. When one of our favorite little Lilly Lovers broke her wrist recently, we just had to do something! With a little wrapping paper and the help of Kaitlyn's dad, Dr. David Friedman at the Cleveland Clinic, a one of a kind cast was created. According to Kaitlyn's mom, Sherry, the Lilly print brought a big smile to Kaitlyn's face- proving that even with a broken wrist, you can never have a bad day in Lilly!

So the cutest couple was shopping in the store for their honeymoon outfits. The wedding was in a couple of weeks and the groom wanted to wear his first Lilly blazer. They were telling us there story of how they met and where they were getting married.....and then magic. Lilly Pulitzer walked into the store. We were asked to be part of a wonderful charity event benefiting WXEL, our local public broadcasting service, at Mar A Lago. Woman with Wings and Wisdom. C. Orrico presented a fashion show of Lilly Pulitzer Spring 2009. The guest speaker was Suze Orman...clearly a woman with wisdom, I did not see wings, but I am sure she has a set. The theme of the event was Lilly Pulitzer, 50 years of a colorful life. Lilly was our guest. She definitely has wings. Wisdom goes wihout saying.

Suze was uplifting and empowering. She paid tribute to Lilly herself with a personal story. It brought the audience to a teary eyed standing ovation. It was a story of Suze being down and out. No money,credit cards to the hilt, no job. She said she was at the low of lows. A friend had invited her to Palm Beach and with an invite to Lilly's for dinner. Suze said she could not believe they were eating at the infamous Lilly Pulitzers house. Sheepishly Suze went. When she arrived at the house Lilly treated her as if she knew Suze her whole life. She made Suze feel like an amazing individual who was the most important person to Lilly herself. Then Suze realized she made everyone in the room feel this way. What a wonderful woman. No matter a dignitarie or a car detailer....Lilly treats all as equal.

Sneak peak for this upcoming season we found a really cool designer. Her name is Nui. She has one style dress that we can not live without. One size fits all in the softest jersey knit. I thought the same thing. Jersey knit? One size? This dress can not fit well. WRONG!
I just received my Nui yesterday to try. I am never taking it off. Then we tried it on our girls in the store. They range from size 2 to size 10. They all looked great. The length can be adjusted with one straight snip with scissors. We have a plethora of colors and prints coming in this Fall. Wear it with flips or dress it up with strappy Choos. Pashmina wrap it or jean jacket, either way you won't take it off either.

This past weekend Casey,Kathie and myself took off to Miami for a night of googling at scantily clad models walking the walk at the Tibi Swimsuit Fashion Show.

We dined at Devitos... more like a good ole pig out, but we will go with dined. The next day we spent at the Swim Show. We should basically change the name of our store to Tunics R Us. I am going to cook every night for the rest of my life. Why. Because I met Tyler Florence today in Atlanta. Me Casey and Kathie were at a seminar at the Merchandise Mart today for Tyler's new book, Tyler's Ultimate. He made the Pork Tenderloin and Grilled potato salad with a side of Verde sauce. They passed out little sampler plates of this delicious dish. To say the least we will be having pork when we get back in town.
Tyler is a beefcake in every sense of the word. Someone in the audience requested to ask a personal question. Tyler looked down with a devilish smirk and said, " What boxers or briefs?" The audience giggled for a whole minute. He stole our hearts with his adorable personality. What came thru all the fun, he truly loves his job. His job: to teach us how to cook properly and appreciate food to the point of "having a moment" when tasting food.
Thanks Tyler I will not forget today's lesson for some time to come.

Well I have been watching Tennis all day long. One Match. Two Champions. One winner.

Rafael Nadal won his first Wimbledon Title today against rival and 5 time champ Roger Federer.

After rain delays and 5 sets with uncountable tie breaker points and match points missed It ended 4-6 4-6 7-6 7-6 9-7.

Personally, I love Roger, and I love his sweater with the "F" embroidered on the left flank. I think I need one with an "O".

Just get an espresso maker. Nothing fancy, any kind will do.
Make the espresso.
Fill a glass with ice.
Pour your espresso in.
Top it off with iced cold milk.
You can make it with vanilla extract or get flavorings at any specialty store.
Every time I walk into my girlfriends house I make one right off the bat. I also make one every morning at home. To boot it's all organic at home!!

Olympic Customer

We have a wonderful family in town with a bon a fide Olympian as a member. Not just any Olympian, but a record breaking multiple time medal winning come back kid. Kid? Well she still looks like one, but is actually Dara Grace Torres and she was born April 15, 1967, in Los Angeles, California. She was the first swimmer in the US to compete in four Olympics: 1984, 1988, 1992, and 2000.
She has won nine Olympic medals, including four golds, and won five medals alone in at Sydney in 2000, the Games in which she was the eldest member on the team with her 33 years. On August 1st, 2007 at the age of 40 (just 15 months after giving birth to her first child), she won gold in the 100 meter freestyle at the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, her 14th win at these events. She then followed that up on August 4th, by breaking her own American record in the 50 m freestyle.
She is currently training for the 2008 Summer Olympics and would become the first swimmer to make five Olympic teams and the oldest female Olympic swimmer, at age 41, were she to make the team.
Be sure to watch her qualify on non other than July 4, 2008 televised from Oklahoma. Over 70 of her immediate and extended family will be there to cheer her on. We will be cheering from home.

Today started as any other day. I came to work with many projects in mind and expecting a busy day with the sale. To my surprise my friend Kate came in with her twin girls, Lilly ( named appropriately) and Brooke ( still a great name). One second later my other friend Nicole came with her little one RJ. Now we have three. Wait one more second and another set of twins came in, Zoe and John Jr. with there mommy, yes our friend too.

Needless to say, no projects were complete and all of the customers stopped in awe over the beautiful babies.
We had such a wonderful time with all five of them,it can not be described. Thank God we have three girls, future clients of C. Orrico!!!! We love the boys too!

What are the odds that eight of my closest friends did not see "Sex and the City The Movie" until Wednesday night? After all it had been running in theaters for 10 days. What had we done for ten days?
Well at 6:20 Wednesday night we were amazed, heart-broken, tickled silly, delighted, and shocked for 2hours and 35 minutes. After we went to dinner and talked about it for hours.
All of us left children,husbands, and houses to be with our Four favorite New Yorkers.
I thank all of you who had seen the movie and kept the elements safe and sound so I could experience it in full.
I also am looking for the book....That great book.. Love letters of Great Men

We have been in meetings for the past few days with Lilly Pulitzer Corporate. Corporate can be dull and boring but mix in
Lilly Pulitzer, The Breakers Hotel, the beautiful sunny beaches and...........not so corporate.
We saw the new Resort 2008 Jubilee line, the Steinway Lilly Piano, The Lilly Jeep, smelled the new fragrance, tried on the Sunglasses and thumbed through the stationary and gift card samples.

Next week Palm Beach will become the meeting mecca of all Lilly Pulitzer-ites from all over the country. Our leading lady will be celebrating her big 5 0 this year.... that is for designing our favorite shifts. We are all meeting to plan how we will celebrate with her. The breakers will become a sea of pink and green starting on May 27th. Sneak peeks will be coming your way so check back for some great goodies.

Last Saturday we had a little soiree at our store. Pink and green mini cupcakes,pink lemonade,and signature tea sandwich's, need I say more.
After devouring our tasty tid bids, we sat down and had a Q and A Lilly style sitting around the pink cozy couch.
We hope all of you had as much fun as we did.

Mothers Day, Mothers Life

It strikes me funny that we officially celebrate "Mom's" for only one day a year, when in fact privately they are celebrated for a lifetime and beyond.

We celebrate our Mother everyday and those of you who come
and shop int he store know this very fact.

Our Mother is our life line. We are koala bears on her
even to this day. All three of us. In fact a lot more that three.

Everyone calls our mother, "Mama". Any time of day
you can hear people shopping happily and saying " Hi Mama, How are you?" She represents Mom to everyone.
Safe, comforting,funny,sensible,gracious. Every adjective known to describe a Mother is our mom.

We are lucky and blessed. We hope you had wonderful celebrations for your Mother. We hope you do this on a daily basis. We do.
